Official Session Dates

The CBSE academic year begins on April 1, 2025 and concludes on March 31, 2026. These dates apply to all affiliated schools across India and abroad.

School Reopening & Term Structure

Schools may reopen in the first half of April; some regions (notably heat-affected areas) may schedule reopening between April 1–15, 2025.

  • Term 1: April – September 2025
  • Term 2: October 2025 – March 2026
Exams & Holidays Overview

Class 10 Board Exam (2026)
  • First attempt: February 17 – March 6, 2026
  • Second attempt (optional, up to 3 subjects): May 5 – May 20, 2026
  • Students’ best scores in each subject will be retained.
Class 12 Board Exam (2026)
  • Main exams: Generally held in February–March 2026
